Position:  Senior 3G Radio Network Optimiser
Reference:  CTO/S3GRNO/043/0609


Role:
Overall you will be responsible to optmise and tune network through interpretation of all available performance measurements to produce reports and manage all Radio Network databases. You will provide expertise in the area of Radio Optimisation, you will utilize 3G/GSM experience to ensure best setup parameters in the network and you will ensure the network is optimized with high quality performance. You will be required to ensure the Network quality targets are met as per the agreed KPIs. You will decide on radio features and you will be providing expertise on optimizing and tuning the Radio Network. You will monitor overall Radio Network performance and taking necessary actions to improve it. You will be conducting and validating plans from the vendors this will include meetings and negotiation process for UTRAN network specifications. You will be preparing/reviewing the technical specifications for existing and new technologies. You will be confirming accuracy of the formulas and counters in BO and OSS. You will be checking on parameter consistencies check in network and proposing new parameters. You will train (on job training) to existing and new employees within the section.


Person
You have a university degree in Engineering/Telecom. You have minimum of 5 years of experience in Radio System Design & Optimisation of 2G/3G in a telecom or a major manufacture. you have practical experience in EDGE, UMTS Technology ( RF Planning, Optimisation and products). You have experience in the tools used in network eg Tems investigation, Tems visualization, TCP, Nemo Outdoor, Actix & OSS radio performance tools. You have a strong understanding of mobile industry trends and services. You have a creative and analytical mind. You have strong oragnisation and planning skills. You have excellent communication (written and spoken English) and documentation skills. You have a valid driver's license.
