    A business is required to submit copies of Commercial Registration, Chamber of Commerce Certificate, & a letter from authorised signatories.

Nawras Mobile Email

  1. What is Nawras Mobile Email?
    Nawras Mobile Email is provided through a strategic alliance with Microsoft® and i-mate™. It helps you to send and receive emails, surf the web, check your personal calendar and contacts in real time, while you are on the move. For more information, please click here.

  3. What do I need to get going?
    To start using Nawras Mobile Email, you require an EDGE / GPRS enabled Ajel postpaid subscription with Nawras Internet subscription activated. You also require a Windows Mobile handset from i-mate™ / BenQ or similar. You also have to be an existing user of Microsoft Exchange 2003.

  4. How can I program my handset for Nawras Mobile Email?

  5. My company is not using Exchange 2003. How can Nawras help me set up a Nawras Mobile Email connection?
    Many companies use a POP3 mail service or a Hotmail account for business purposes. To find out how easy it is to get started with Nawras Mobile Email using POP3 or Hotmail, click on the respective links.

Setting up a Hotmail Account

Pocket MSN is already installed on your device if it has been purchased through Nawras. If you have a Hotmail account you should follow these simple steps:

  1. Tap the Pocket MSN icon on your Today screen.

  2. Enter your Hotmail address and password.

  3. Tap Sign In.

Your Hotmail should automatically appear on the Today screen.

Setting up a POP3 Account

  1. Tap on Accounts, then New Account.

  2. In the Enter email address field, enter the email address for the Email account.

  3. Tap on Next twice.

  4. In the Your name field, enter a name.

  5. In the User name field, enter the username for the Email account.

  6. In the Password field, enter the password for the Email account.

  7. Tap on Save password to store the password.

  8. Tap on Next.

  9. Tap on the Account type drop down list and select POP or POP3.

  10. In the Name field, enter Omantel.

  11. Tap on Next.

  12. In the Incoming mail field, enter pop.omantel.net.om

  13. In the Outgoing mail field, enter smtp.omantel.net.om

  14. Tap on Options.

  15. Tap on the Connection: drop-down list and select Nawras GPRS.

  16. Tap on Next twice and then Finish.

  17. Tap on No.

  18. Tap on x to close the Messaging screen.

The handset is now configured for sending and receiving POP3 emails.

Establishing an Internet Connection

  1. On the handset, tap on Start and then Settings.

  2. Tap on the Connections tab.

  3. Tap on the Connections icon.

  4. Tap on the Advanced tab.

  5. Tap on Select Networks.

  6. Tap on New.

  7. In the Enter a name for these settings field, enter Nawras GPRS.

  8. Tap on the Modem tab.

  9. Tap on New.

  10. In the Enter a name for the connection field, enter Nawras GPRS.

  11. Tap on the Select a modem drop-down list and select Cellular Line (GPRS).

  12. Tap on Next.

  13. In the Access point name field, enter isp.nawras.com.om

  14. Tap on Next.

  15. In the Username field, enter orange.

  16. In the Password field, enter orange.

  17. Tap on Finish.

  18. Tap on ok three times.

  19. Tap on x to close the Settings screen.

Bulk SMS Service

  1. Can anyone apply for this service?
    This service is restricted to Business customers with a valid Commercial Registration Number.
     

  2. How can one obtain this service?
    You can avail the service by one of the following ways:
        a. Send email to BulkSMS@nawras.om
        b. Call us on 95011500
     

  3. Will Nawras give us their data base of customers?
    This service is to facilitate YOU the Bulk SMS user to communicate with YOUR database. Therefore you need to have your own database to communicate.
     

  4. Do I have to give our database of customers to Nawras?
    No. Your database is your property, we need not see it since you as the Bulk SMS user is in control. Therefore, with Nawras Bulk SMS, your data remains confidential.
     

  5. Can I keep track of the Bulk SMS usage?
    Yes. The Nawras Bulk SMS application facilitates you to keep track of all used and balance SMS.
     

  6. Can Bulk SMS send messages to any mobile operator in Oman?
    Yes.
     

  7. What communications can I expect from the Bulk SMS team?
    The registered Bulk SMS Coordinator will be notified of the following events via SMS & Email.
    i.) Activation Alert: Sent to contact person upon account activation.
    ii.) Welcome E-mail: Sent to Contact Person Welcoming the company to Nawras Bulk SMS service.
    iii.) Top up notification: Sent to Contact Person after every top up transaction.
    iv.) Re-order Alert:

         a. Upon reaching 90% usage of the bundle.
         b. last 20 days validity of the bundle.
         c. Account Disabled (no balance).
         d. Account Disabled (Validity expired).
