Here’s how you can become a Nawras customer while retaining your existing Oman Mobile number.
 
Mobile Number Portability
(MNP) is a new service launched by Nawras, which makes it possible for you to transfer from Oman Mobile to Nawras while keeping your current mobile number.

Simply put, you can now experience great value, pleasingly different service and excellent quality offered by Nawras, which is unmatched by any other mobile operator in Oman.

Nawras is delighted to see Mobile Number Portability introduced in Oman, especially as the Sultanate is of one of the first countries in the Middle East to offer a similar service.

How to transfer to Nawras while retaining your existing mobile number?

  1. Contact your existing operator (Oman Mobile), request your statement of all dues and pay it.

  2. Visit any Nawras Store or Premium Dealer within 24 hours to start the process of porting (transferring your existing mobile number to Nawras). Our Nawras Store or Premium Dealer representatives will help you fill out the customer porting authorisation form.

  3. Choose whether to transfer to Nawras Ajel (postpaid) or Nawras Mousbak (prepaid), by purchasing the corresponding welcome pack and signing the Nawras registration form.

  4. You can use your new Nawras SIM-card with a temporary Nawras number as soon as it is activated. Nawras takes care of the rest of the process, and within 2-3 days the temporary number on your new Nawras SIM-card will be replaced with your original mobile number. All calls made during the transferring period by you from your temporary Nawras number will either be deducted from your account, for Nawras Mousbak, or billed on your first Nawras bill statement, for Nawras Ajel.

  5. Nawras will notify you by calling you once the transferring process is about to be completed. Once the transfer of the number is completed, your old SIM-card will be disconnected and can be discarded. Nawras waives off the porting (transfer) fee of RO 3.

  6. After the above steps are completed, you will automatically be switched to Nawras with your original mobile number.

  7. Start enjoying a world-class mobile communications service from Nawras!

Important things to remember when transferring to Nawras

  1. Do not cancel your existing contract before porting (step 1 & 2 above) - once a mobile number is disconnected, it cannot be ported.

  2. You must be the registered user of the mobile number in order to port it.

  3. Only a valid ID is required when transferring from Oman Mobile postpaid to Nawras Ajel postpaid service. You don’t have to bring a salary certificate or make a money deposit.

  4. Only a valid ID is required when transferring from Oman Mobile postpaid to Nawras Mousbak prepaid service.

  5. When transferring from Oman Mobile prepaid (Hayyak) to Nawras Ajel postpaid service, please remember to bring the following documentation:
    • Identity Card (Omani Nationals)
    • Resident Card (Expats - new format)
    • Salary Slip, Deposit or Credit Card
