Getting Started with Extended Network Coverage
Our national roaming agreement with Oman Mobile allows our customers to use Oman Mobile’s network in areas where our top quality EDGE network is not yet rolled out. This service is available free of charge.

If you wish to use our voice and SMS services outside the Nawras coverage area, you will need to ensure that your mobile handset is set to automatic network selection. Once you move into an area where there is no Nawras coverage, your mobile handset will search for an available network and automatically activate Oman Mobile in the area you are travelling in. (The only exception being parts of the Muscat Governorate, where national roaming has not been made available.) Once you are back in the Nawras Network coverage area, your mobile handset will automatically reconnect to the Nawras network.

Help Me! My mobile handset is not switching between Nawras and Oman Mobile networks automatically.

If your mobile handset does not switch between Nawras and Oman Mobile network automatically, please do as follows:

Step 1: Turn your phone off and on again
Step 2: Do a manual search for network and select Oman Mobile

To search network on Nokia phones:
Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Network Selection > Manual > Select Network

To search network on Sony Ericsson phones:
Menu > Connectivity > GSM Networks or Mobile Networks > New search > Select Network

If your mobile handset does not automatically switch back to Nawras when you are back in a Nawras covered area, please make sure that you manually select Nawras again (follow steps above), in order to benefit from our high quality network and enjoy services like Picture Messaging and data access via EDGE / GPRS.

To check network selection on Nokia phones:
Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Network Selection > Manual / Automatic

To check network selection on Sony Ericsson phones:
Menu > Connectivity > GSM Networks or Mobile Networks > Search Mode > Manual / Automatic

Please note that the Nawras Network may appear on your handset as: nawras or 42203 or OMN03.
