With Mobile Data Access, you can use your mobile handset not only to send & receive calls but also to browse the Internet or send & receive emails and data at very affordable prices. All you need is a mobile handset that supports data services and properly configure the handset for mobile data access.

To get started, you don’t need to request activation, as the service is available to you by default. There is no charge for setting up Mobile Data Access services but you will be charged for airtime.

How to use:

You have several ways to configure your mobile handset to start using Nawras Mobile Data Services.

The first time you install your new Nawras SIM-card in your mobile handset with, you will be invited to receive the SMS needed to configure your mobile handset for Mobile Data Services (Mobile Data Access for browsing the Internet, Picture Messaging and for WAP browsing including configuration of Nawras Zone as your WAP-start page).

Start the configuration process by sending a free of charge SMS with keyword “all” to 1501. You will then receive 3 messages, which you just have to accept. Once you have done that, your mobile handset is configured to use Mobile Data Services.

If you did not configure your mobile handset the first time you accessed Nawras Network via your Nawras SIM-card, or if you lost a configuration message by accident, or if anything went wrong during the first configuration attempt, you can always repeat the configuration process.

You have several options to reconfigure:

  1. Send a free of charge SMS with keyword “all” to 1501.

  2. Initiate the configuration process via MyNawras.

  3. Call Nawras Customer Service at 1500 and request them to send the configuration settings to your mobile handset.

Service Specific Information:

Nawras Network supports both GPRS and EDGE enabled mobile handsets. The optimal speed you get when browsing depends on your mobile handset’s capabilities. Some mobile handsets do not support automatic configuration via SMS. If your mobile handset does not support automatic configuration you can manually configure your mobile handset by following the user guide of your mobile handset.

You will need the following information:
APN: isp.nawras.com.om
User Name: test
Password: test

Every time you change your mobile handset you need to repeat the configuration process. Nawras Network will automatically detect the change and invite you to configure your new mobile handset again.
