International Roaming Tips - Things to remember before you travel

It's worth taking the time before you leave to make sure you have got everything you need for using your mobile phone abroad! Here is a checklist that should help you out:

1. Check that Nawras has a roaming partner in the country you want to visit.
   

2. Please make sure that International Roaming is activated before going abroad. You can activate International Roaming by visiting a Nawras Stores or Nawras Premium Partner.
   

3. Pay attention to both the country and the available roaming partners. If there is more than one mobile service provider in a country, you need to select a Nawras Roaming Partner to be able to use your mobile handset.
   

4. When you reach your destination, turn on your mobile handset. It will automatically search for an available network. Alternatively, you can manually select a network from the list of available operators on your mobile handset. Click here to learn how to select a network manually.
   

5. When entering telephone numbers on your phone book on the SIM-card or in the mobile handset, always add ‘+’ along with the country code in front of the telephone number. This will help you use your phone book even when you are roaming.
   

6. Roaming on Vodafone – Japan or KTF – South Korea network is only possible if you have a 3G enabled handset. If you don’t have a 3G handset while traveling to Japan or South Korea then you may rent a compatible Japan PDC mobile handset or a Korea CDMA mobile handset on arrival at the airport to avail roaming in Japan or Korea.
   

7. Please remember your Voice Mail PIN code so that you can retrieve your voice messages even when you are abroad.
   

8. Remember to carry your mobile phone charger and a travel plug adaptor.
   

9. If are a Nawras Mousbak or Nawras MousbakPlus customer, do check for the availability of sufficient credit on your account to ensure uninterrupted service while roaming.
   

10. Check the latest Roaming tariffs with the Nawras International Roaming Navigator to find out what charges you will incur when using your Nawras Mousbak or Nawras MousbakPlus abroad.
    

11. Remember to carry Recharge Cards. If you have a Nawras Mousbak or Nawras MousbakPlus connection, remember to bring recharge cards too so that you can recharge your account if you run out of credit while you are abroad.
