Nawras introduces exciting new mobile content with local flavour

Nawras, the Sultanate's customer-friendly communications provider has launched exciting new mobile content with fresh, lively, local flavour. By teaming up with Mobile Telecom Group of Abu Dhabi (MTG) Nawras is bringing customers the latest mobile content including themes, wallpapers, ring tones and mobile games, allowing customers to interact and order content in a completely new way. For the first time in Oman, Nawras customers can order the content that they like from a printed catalogue, offering a wide range of topics including specific content for Ramadan and Eid. Once again, Nawras is setting the trends and bringing the latest mobile creativity to customers. A simple SMS short code is used to order the selected content and with so much to choose from, there is something to appeal to everyone, young and not so young.

Nawras customers can see a comprehensive summary of the exciting new content by picking up the captivating new ‘Naqalak Ahla’ booklet at one of the 11 Nawras Stores throughout the Sultanate. Browsing the choices at their leisure, customers can order the content that they wish and retain the catalogue for later use. This offers greater flexibility than logging onto the Internet to choose content from the Web, and those who like to change their content regularly or share the exciting range of options with their friends can easily carry the booklet around with them. Alternatively, those who prefer to review the options on-line can do so at www.nawras.com where the uploaded catalogue will appear and customers can find keywords and short codes.

The service also includes song dedications, funny voice tricks, text messaging and video cards. To receive content from the wide choice on offer, Nawras customers simply send an SMS message request to a specific short code. Prices differ depending on the content type selected. For those who like to be at the cutting edge of available technology, this new service will be very tempting and is sure to provide a lot of fun and enjoyment.

Raed Dawood, Team Leader, Value Added Services, said, “We are very proud to be able to offer this new service from Nawras. I’m sure it will soon become a firm favourite with many of our customers. By working with MTG, we have been able to introduce a wide variety of content options, with a special emphasis on local interests. The content is quick and easy to access and proved to be a lot of fun when we ran trials to test its possibilities.” Dawood went on to enthuse, “I am delighted that Nawras can offer another ‘first’ to the market and look forward to the positive response from our customers, that this service is sure to generate.”

Nawras has always promised to deliver ‘firsts’ to the market in Oman as it redefines the mobile communications landscape. This ‘first’ follows on from many others including the introduction of SMS-based credit transfer, particularly useful when roaming abroad because should credit run low for Nawras prepaid customers, family or friends back in Oman can transfer credit to their account thus ensuring an uninterrupted roaming experience. Nawras has also introduced wireless high-speed internet access, fast, reliable mobile data access using EDGE, an international data roaming service in 13 countries including all the GCC destinations, the Nawras Rewards programme (recently expanded to include more than 40 partners), and the lowest national and 0 international call rates in the Sultanate.
