Nawras Sales Academy Opens

Nawras, the Sultanate's customer-friendly communications provider, officially inaugurated its Sales Training Academy’s shiny new premises in Nawras’ Al Araimi Shop. The Nawras Sales Academy was officially inaugurated by Mr. Ross Cormack, Nawras CEO, in the presence of Niklas Nielsen Sales Director and other Nawras senior staffs.

The Academy has been operational since 2004, even before Nawras launched commercially, developing staff in Sales and Dealer Partners to serve customers, sell Nawras products and services, and operate the different Sales Channels. Nawras has been investing in International qualifications for its Sales Training specialists Yasser Sulaiman and Kishor Sadarangani, who successfully completed their final exams and skills assessments in June. The Academy also comes equipped with an extensive library of up-to-the-minute audio and interactive CD ROMs, books and articles on Sales and Management which staff can borrow on-line through Nawras’ intranet to learn at their own pace.

“The Academy is well known for delivering high quality training on site at Nawras Sales outlets across the whole of the Sultanate. To keep pace with the rapid expansion of our Sales Channels, we are opening this Training Centre and recruiting another trainer”, said Olivia Al-Farsi, Nawras’ Department Head for Sales Support and Logistics who manages the Academy. “Our Muscat premises have two rooms with the full IT set up used to sell, for Sales staff to practice and learn on, to polish their skills to serve customers. There are also fully networked training rooms in Nawras’ Nizwa Sotre to train Sales staff and dealers in the regions.”

The Training Centre is running at full occupancy from launch, with courses to prepare over 200 people in Sales and Premium Dealers to launch mobile number portability (MNP) – a first in the Middle East - on August 15th. MNP is a new service to make it possible for customers to transfer their existing Oman Mobile number to Nawras.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Cormack said “We have as one of our core objectives is to provide the Best Service in Oman, and so it is essential that we provide our employees as well as our Dealer Partners with necessary training to equip them to serve our customers demanding requirements”. He added, “Our sales team and Dealer Partner live our core values including striving for excellence, and for that reason we have spent a lot of effort and resources on training the sales teams to achieve this.”

Ms Khadija Al-Nofli, Shop trainee said: “I’m really impressed by the effort that Nawras has gone to put these professional facilities together. The trainers are very friendly and knowledgeable, and I am learning a lot here that I can use to help customers and in my personal life. Its very exciting to be part of launching a brand new service like MNP for the first time in Oman as well for the first time in the region.”

The Training centre is fully booked for the rest of the quarter training over 100 new dealers who have recently joined the Nawras Circle.
