Nawras in collaboration with Oman Arab Bank Launches Bank Recharge service

Nawras, the Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company SAOC - the Sultanate’s customer-friendly communications provider, in collaboration with Oman Arab Bank launched a Bank Recharge service for its pre-paid customers.

With Bank Recharge, Nawras prepaid customers can recharge their Nawras Mousbak and Nawras MousbakPlus account at Oman Arab Bank self service FastBank Centre and branches. By this option, customers will not need to search for multiple shops to buy recharge cards. Bank Recharge will be available at OAB's branches and offices and at FastBank Centres all over the Sultanate. All the customer needs to do is to visit any OAB FastBank Centre and enter the telephone number and any credit between 1 RO and 999 RO, and the system will then electronically transfer the requested amount to the customer’s prepaid account. Alternatively the customer can go to one of Oman Arab Bank branches and offices and ask to recharge any Nawras Mousbak or Nawras MousbakPlus customer. The customer will receive an instant confirmation from Oman Arab Bank via a printed receipt and will get an SMS confirmation message from Nawras that his/her Nawras account has been credited electronically with the amount of credit requested – this service is free of charge. A clear advantage of using Bank Recharge service is the availability of this convenience 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on all OAB FastBank Centres.

Abdullah Al Rawahy, Nawras Chief Technical Advisor, commented, “We have a good collaboration with Oman Arab Bank in several areas and we are focused on working closely with Oman Arab Bank on a strategic long term level. We see Bank Recharge as an important step forward and a benefit to our customers. We are looking forward to having other channels for prepaid recharge enabled in the near future, such as ATMs and Internet Banking.”

Abdul Qader Sher Al Bulushi, Assistant General Manager Operations and Retail Banking at Oman Arab Bank expressed his pleasure to introduce this service to Nawras customers and at the increased level of customer’s awareness of the benefits of electronic banking services offered to Oman Arab Bank. Mr. Abdul Qader also mentioned that OAB is pioneering the Omani Market in the e-banking service and it was the first bank in Oman to offer the 24 hour self-service banking concept through its network of FastBank Centres which offers customer multiple services including bill payment and GSM top-up.
