Nawras customers will be first to enjoy enhanced Prepaid Roaming in Saudi Arabia

Nawras, the Sultanate's most customer-friendly mobile operator, has announced on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, that it has launched enhanced Prepaid Roaming in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the first mobile operator in Oman. Commenting on this landmark achievement Khalid Al-Mahmoud, Nawras Chief Operations Officer, said, “When we launched our mobile services on the 16th of March 2005, we were the first operator in the Sultanate to introduce International Roaming capabilities for Prepaid customers, through our Callback Roaming service. We are very excited to announce that we have now entered the next level, in which we have launched an enhanced Prepaid Roaming service to our Prepaid customers, making International Roaming with Prepaid just the same experience as with a Postpaid service.”

With the new service Nawras Prepaid customers, whether they have nawras Mousbak or nawras MousbakPlus, can make and receive calls, as well as receive SMS in Saudi Arabia in the same way as they just dial or SMS at home in Oman. More importantly Prepaid Roaming customers can benefit from less expensive calls within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the new enhanced service, with call tariffs as low as 99 baisa per minute for national calls.

Al-Mahmoud added, “We are extremely pleased that we once again pave the way to improve customer satisfaction in Oman, by being the first mobile operator to offer Prepaid customers this enhanced experience and additional value. Through our extensive market research we learned that Prepaid Roaming in Saudi Arabia, was among the highest requests from the Omani population for travel there for business or to perform Umra or Hajj. With the launch of our enhanced Prepaid Roaming service we once again deliver what customers want, allowing us to build on our promise to offer Best Service, Best Quality and Best Value to the Omani population.”

Nawras Mousbak and nawras MousbakPlus customers roaming in Saudi Arabia can call local numbers, friends, family or business colleagues in Oman, or other international destinations, by simply dialling the numbers preceded by the respective country code (e.g. +968 for Oman or +966 for local Saudi numbers). While in Saudi Arabia Nawras customers can call the Nawras Customer Service Champions for any enquires on +96895011500.

Haitham bin Abdullah Al-Kharusi, Nawras Head of Corporate of Affairs, added, “We have listened to our customers and given priority to introduce the enhanced Prepaid Roaming service with our Saudi partner Mobily (Etihad Etisalat), thereby meeting the need of the large number of Prepaid customers travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform the Umra. Nawras and Mobily (Etihad Etisalat) customers now have the freedom to keep in touch with their family and friends even when travelling to the neighbouring country.”
