Nawras becomes first mobile operator in Oman to offer enhanced Prepaid Roaming in the UAE

Nawras, the Sultanate's most customer-friendly mobile operator, has announced that it has launched enhanced Prepaid Roaming in the United Arab Emirates, as the first mobile operator in Oman. Commenting on this landmark achievement Tore Solberg, Nawras Marketing Director, said, “When we launched our mobile services on the 16th of March 2005, we were the first operator in the Sultanate to introduce international roaming capabilities for Prepaid customers, through our Callback Roaming service. We are very exited to announce that we have now entered the next level, in which we have launched an enhanced Prepaid Roaming service to our Prepaid customers, making international roaming with Prepaid just as convenient as with a Postpaid service. With the new service, our Prepaid customers, whether they have nawras Mousbak or nawras MousbakPlus, can make and receive calls, as well as receive SMS in the UAE.

Solberg added, “We are extremely pleased that we once again pave the way to improve customer satisfaction in Oman, by being the first mobile operator to offer Prepaid customers this enhanced experience and additional value. Through our extensive market research we learned that Prepaid Roaming in the UAE, was among the highest requests from the Omani population. With the launch of our enhanced Prepaid Roaming service we once again deliver what customers want, allowing us to build on our promise to offer Best Service, Best Quality and Best Value to the Omani population.”

Nawras has expanded its network of international roaming partners, to cover more than 90% of Omani travel destinations. Currently there are 80 international roaming partners in 54 countries and the number of countries is continuously growing. By the end of 2005 Nawras will provide its valued customers with more than 100 roaming partners

Haitham bin Abdullah Al-Kharusi, Nawras Head of Corporate of Affairs, added, “The United Arab Emirates and Oman have long had the closest brotherly relations in the region. We have introduced the enhanced Prepaid Roaming service with our UAE partner Etisalat, thereby meeting the needs of the large number of Prepaid customers travelling between the two countries for business or pleasure. Just like the falcon that soars freely between the UAE and Oman, Nawras and Etisalat customers now have the freedom to keep in touch with their family and friends even when travelling to the neighbouring country.”
