Nawras: 50,000 Customers and still growing rapidly

Nawras Oman’s newest mobile operator has in less then two month since commercial launch reached 50,000 customers. At a Nawras’ Qurum Store, in Al Araimi Complex, on Wednesday 4th May Mr. Mohhideen Zafar Ali became Nawras’ 50,000th customer. Since the official opening of Nawras on 16 March, Nawras stores and its Nawras partner shops have been overwhelmed with the number of people crowding in to become customers or simply to learn more about the great value Nawras offers. Mr. Ali was invited to Nawras’ Qurum Store on Sunday morning to be given a memorable gift to celebrate the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ross Cormack, Nawras CEO commented “Nawras promised that the mobile communications landscape will change forever and I am pleased to reconfirm that this has materialised in a remarkably short time.” He went on to add “I am extremely proud to announce that we already have welcomed 50,000 customers in less then two months of launch. This reflects the confidence the people of Oman have in Nawras to provide an excellent customer experience. We listened closely to what customers wanted, and we are now delivering products and services to respond to their requirements”.

Mr. Ali remarked, “I received a call from Nawras Main office inviting me to come to the store. I was informed that there was some special news related to Nawras which they wanted to share with me.” Mr. Ali went on to add, “I was attracted to the Nawras because of their services. I was using Hayyak prepaid services for both my personal and business needs, including arranging functions for the hotel I work for, however it was difficult to be able to bill the hotel for business calls since I did not receive an itemised bill at the end of the month. I chose Nawras Ajel, since it was great value and had all the services I required including itemised billing so I can recover the costs of business calls from my employer. I was also pleased by friendly service and the ease of purchasing my Nawras Ajel welcome pack at a location close to my home. Within a few hours after leaving the Nawras Store I was activated and ready to use my Nawras SIM card!”

Nawras market research showed that customers wanted exciting and relevant stores and more places to buy mobile services. Commenting on the great success Mikkel Vinter Nawras Chief Commercial Officer mentioned “Working for a mobile operator has been compared to running a Marathon. For us in the Nawras team this means a long and highly competitive race to offer customers the best Value, best Quality and best Service and this is the reason for our success today”. “However, once in a while the Marathon might turn into a sprint, and what a sprint the last couple weeks has been. We have added around 18000 new customers to Nawras, and I would like to express my sincere thanks to people of Oman for entrusting in Nawras and for the Nawras’s employees and partners who have worked so hard to make this great achievement possible. Mr. Cormack, handed Mr. Ali the memorable gift being a Special Nawras number and mobile handset adding “We would like to thank you, Mr. Ali, for honouring us by becoming our 50,000th customer and we look forward to providing you with friendly service and great value”.
