SQU president inaugurates SQU Nawras branch

Nawras the new leading mobile operator in Oman yesterday officially inaugurated its exclusive and modern Nawras Store in Sultan Qaboos University. The Nawras Store was inaugurated under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Nasser Al-Riyami SQU’s president, in the presence of the deans of the colleges and faculties at SQU as well as Sheikh Saif bin Hashil Al-Maskery Chairman of Nawras, Mr. Abdullah Al-Ma’amari and Saleh Al-Riyami members of the Nawras board, Mr. Ross Cormack Nawras CEO, Khalid Al-Mahmoud Chief Operating Officer and Mr. Mikkel Vinter Nawras’s Chief Commercial Officer.

Speaking on the occasion H.E. Dr. Al-Riyami remarked “Nawras was first to come forward and offer its services directly to the students and faculty of SQU university with a presence on the university grounds. In addition, recently there have been partnership building activities and promotions and offers that were made available to students of the university in order for them to get closer to their families and friends. I take this opportunity to wish Nawras every success in providing mobile telecommunication services to the people of Oman and we will continue to cooperate and support the company in its university initiatives.”

Sheikh Saif bin Hashil Al-Maskery mentioned “it gives me a great honour to thank H.E. Dr. Saud bin Nasser Al-Riyami SQU’s president for inaugurating Nawras’s Store in SQU. I would also like to thank the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications and the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority for their support and cooperation in making the launch of Nawras such a great success, as well as the Nawras shareholders and members of the board and especially Nawras employees who have worked extremely hard to build the company in such a short time.”

Mr. Cormack remarked, “We are extremely pleased to have H.E. Dr. Saud Al-Riyami inaugurate our new store in SQU.” He added “University students are an important part of our valued customer base and we wanted to provide caring support close to them by having a store on the university campus. We thank the university for allowing us to be first mobile service company with a presence in the university to service the students and faculty of the university. Nawras is committed to continually enhancing mobile services and by setting even higher standards. Nick Di Marzo, Nawras Retail Manager added that, “On a daily basis a lot of students visit the Student Service Center at SQU and our location in the Center is convenient to serve students. We have nine exclusive Nawras Stores, that are owned and operated by the company and we have plans to expand this in the future. Nawras was the first mobile operator in Oman to introduce a brand new concept of distribution with premium partners, standard dealers and retail partners making Nawras’ services available at more than 450 points of sales throughout the Sultanate. He added, “When customers visit a Nawras Store they can try out the latest mobile phones and learn how to get the best from their Nawras mobile services.”
