Nawras: 10,000 Customers after one week of business

After only one week of opening and offering its mobile services to the people of Oman, Nawras announced another ‘First’. At a Nawras’ premium dealers, Babood’s in Salalah, on Wednesday 23 March Ms. Ameena Huwas Jundal became Nawras’ 10,000th customer. Since the official opening of Nawras on 16 March, Nawras stores and its Nawras partner shops have been overwhelmed with the number of people crowding in to become customers or simply learn more about the great value Nawras offers. Ms. Jundal and her relative were invited to Nawras’ Salalah Store on Saturday morning to be given a memorable gift to celebrate the occasion.

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Ross Cormack, Nawras CEO commented “Nawras promised that the telecommunication landscape will change forever and I am pleased to confirm that this has materialised in a remarkably short time.” He went on to add “I am extremely proud to announce that we have already 10,000 customers after only one week in business. This reflects the confidence the people of Oman have in Nawras to provide an excellent customer experience underpinned by caring support wherever people are, easy-to-use services, technology to serve customers better and great value. We listened closely to what customers wanted, and we are now delivering products and services to respond to their requirements”.

Ms. Jundal, remarked, “I received a call from Nawras’ Salalah store requesting me to come to the store. I was informed that there was something special related to Nawras they wanted to share with me. When I arrived today I was greeted by the friendly Nawras staff, including the CEO Mr. Cormack, and was informed why I was there … I was really surprised and pleased. Nawras seems to do things in a pleasingly different way!” She went on to add, “I was attracted to the Nawras premium dealer, Babood, after I heard Nawras’ recent announcement about their even greater value. I was also pleased by friendly service and the ease of purchasing my Nawras Ajel welcome pack at a location close to my home. Within a few hours after leaving the store I was activated and ready to use my Nawras SIM card!” When asked to whom she made her first call, Ms. Jundal responded “I called my relative who after talking for a while on the phone commented that the quality of the call was very clear”.

Nawras market research showed that customers wanted exiting and relevant stores and more places to buy mobile services. Mikkel Vinter, Nawras Chief Commercial Officer added, “Nawras again listened to our customers. We have introduced a brand new concept of distribution with premium partners, regular dealers and retail partners making Nawras services available at more than 450 points of sale in Oman. Nawras has simplified the purchase process and also made it more interesting, and now people can buy a Nawras SIM card and a mobile handset at the same location. In addition, customers can register their Nawras Ajel (Postpaid) online at our stores or premium partners or just pick up and pay for our Nawras Mousbak and Nawras Mousbak Plus (Prepaid) from one of our regular dealers or retail partners and register over the phone later. Ms. Jundal was one of the many such customers, who visited one of our premium partners to get closer to their family and friends with Nawras.”

Mr. Cormack, handed Ms. Jundal the memorable gift being a Special Nawras number adding “We would like to thank you, Ms. Jundal, for honoring us by becoming our 10,000th customer and we look forward to provide you with friendly service and great value”.
