Nawras First: Nawras Bill Payment sets new industry standards

Nawras, the new mobile operator in Oman, is committed to be pleasingly different in all aspects of Nawras provides caring support wherever you are with the ultimate goal of ensuring excellent customer experience. Nawras has introduced another first in Oman this time in the area of bill payments where Nawras has set new standards to benefit customers in Oman. Anders Blauenfeldt Nawras Business Development Director said, “Our market research showed that customers wanted ease of payment so we decided to look for new and easier ways for our customers to pay their invoices.”

Strategic partnership agreements with Bank Muscat and Oman Arab Bank were signed and made public back in November 2004, when Nawras explained how we intended to introduce new processes for bill payment. Among other things Nawras focused on the fact that ATMs (automated teller machines) with 24 hour availability are an important element in making bill payment easy and convenient. That is why Nawras has teamed up with major banks to make this type of bill payment available Cash Deposit Machines and ATMs free of charge to Nawras customers and with a direct connection to the Nawras Billing System.

“We are very pleased that our customer focused ideas on payments are catching on in Oman. As we announced last year we have seen a great need for the customer experience to be improved in this area, which is why we have worked closely with Bank Muscat and Oman Arab Bank and now other banks to develop new ways of handling bill payment” said Ross Cormack, Nawras CEO.

Mr. Blauenfeldt added, “For Postpaid customers Nawras sends an SMS to inform them when the bill has been sent and how much needs to be paid. The customer can then pay at one of the 9 Nawras stores or at any of Bank Muscat’s or Oman Arab Bank’s 130 payment outlets, 155 ATMs and 10 cash machines or via internet and phone banking. It is easy and there is no fee for the customer.”
