Nawras hosts employees ‘Thank You’ event at SQU

Nawras the leading mobile operator in Oman organised a special ‘Thank You’ event to honor its employees for their efforts in delivering its successful launch and outstanding achievements to date. The venue for the event was Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), where over two hundred Nawras employees attended the luncheon held at the university’s Faculty Club. The lunch was followed by a presentation from Nawras CEO, Mr. Ross Cormack, on the company’s business performance, current achievements and business plan by end of 2005.

Mr. Khaild Al-Mahmoud Nawras Chief Operating Officer commented on the occasion “At Nawras we always do things in a pleasingly different way and holding this event at SQU is one such way. Instead of having it at conventional environments like hotels, we considered hosting the event at SQU as part of our continuous effort to cultivate a solid relationship with the university.”

After the presentation nawras staff enjoyed the fruits of their labor in a prize draw competition called Nawras Fun Awards. They submitted entries for funniest moments that happened at Nawras ranging from The Best Thing experienced at Nawras, the Funniest Picture taken of a colleague, The Funniest Comment…etc. Winners of the draw received prizes for their amusing contributions. All Nawras employees also received special gifts for their outstanding efforts and commitment to the success of the company.

Mr. Cormack’s presentation focused on Nawras story so far; highlighting corporate achievements in less than three month since its commercial launch and on delivering its promise to transform the mobile communication landscape in the Sultanate forever. He emphasised Nawras’ vision ‘to enrich the lives of people in Oman through better communication’ and its mission ‘to be the communications provider and employer of choice in Oman’. The presentation also focused on reinforcing the Nawras values of Caring, Pleasingly Different and Caring with the ultimate goal of enhancing the customer experience.

He added, “Nawras has many firsts to its credit in revolutionising the mobile telecommunication experience in the Sultanate. All employees should be proud that we have delivered against our pre-launch promises: today the people of Oman benefit from higher quality of voice and data calls delivered by our far superior network, transparent and competitive prices, distant independent prices, excellent products and services provided free of charge and a higher standard of customer service and care”.

He concluded by saying “At Nawras we focus on getting the essentials right in order to deliver the best customer experience that is based on best quality, best service and best value. Being the mobile market leader in such a short period of time is not an easy position to be in, especially since the our competitor have being established in the markets for many years, however we will continue to remain focused on delivering products and services that our customers have asked us to.”
