Nawras welcomes their 100,000th customer at the Khareef Festival

Nawras, Oman’s new leading mobile operator has in four months since commercial launch reached 100,000 customers. At the Nawras stand at the Global Village Khareef Festival in Salalah on Thursday 21st July Mr. Nasser bin Salim Al-Sinani was honoured as Nawras’ 100,000th customer. Since the official launch of Nawras on 16 March, Nawras stores and Nawras partner shops have been overwhelmed with the number of people crowding in to become customers or simply to learn more about the great value Nawras offers. In recognition of reaching this milestone Nawras invited Mr. Al-Sinani and his family to come to Salalah and enjoy the Khareef Festival.

Speaking from Salalah on the occasion Mr. Ross Cormack, Nawras CEO commented “Nawras promised to change the mobile communications landscape forever and I am pleased to confirm that this has materialised in a remarkably short time.” He went on to add “I am extremely proud to announce that we already have welcomed 100,000 customers into the growing Nawras family just four months since launch. This is remarkable achievement and gives Nawras close to a 10% market share and we are still growing stronger. This reflects the confidence the people of Oman have placed in Nawras to provide an excellent customer experience. We listened closely to what customers wanted, and we are now delivering products and services to respond to their requirements”.

Nawras 100,000th customer Mr. Nasser bin Salim Al-Sinani remarked, “I received a call from Nawras Main office inviting me for a special event flying me and my family to Salalah and providing accommodation over the weekend in order to participate with them in the Global Village Khareef Festival. When I was informed in Salalah by Mr. Cormack and other Nawras representative that I had been invited as the 100,000th customer I was extremely proud.” Mr. Al-Sinani went on to add, “I was attracted to the Nawras because of their services. I chose Nawras Ajel post-paid since it was great value and had all the services I required including itemised billing so I can recover the costs of business calls from my employer. I was also pleased by friendly service and the ease of purchasing my Nawras Ajel welcome pack at a location close to my home. Within a few hours after leaving the Nawras Store I was activated and ready to use my Nawras SIM card!”

Nawras market research showed that customers wanted exciting and relevant stores and more places to buy mobile services. Commenting on the great success Haitham bin Abdullah Al-Kharusi mentioned “Working for an innovative Omani mobile operator has been an exciting journey. For us in the Nawras team this means a long and highly competitive race to offer customers the best Value, best Quality and best Service and this is the reason for our success today”. “We have added about 12000 new customers to Nawras last week, and I would like to express my sincere thanks to people of Oman for entrusting in Nawras and for the Nawras’s employees and partners who have worked so hard to make this great achievement possible. This is only the beginning and we intend to remain market leaders in the mobile services in the Sultanate delivering great value, quality and service.”

Mr. Cormack, handed Mr. Al-Sinani the memorable gift being a Special Nawras number and mobile handset adding “We would like to thank you, Mr. Al-Sinani, for honouring us by becoming our 100,000th customer and we look forward to providing you with friendly service and great value”. He concluded, “At Nawras we are customer champions and this special gift to bring your family to Salalah is to recognise our customers as being part of the Nawras family. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our valued stakeholders for this great success.” Mr. Al-Sinani added, “I thank Nawras for their kind gesture of bringing my family and I to Salalah to enjoy the Khareef Festival this is a memorable gift and we will never forget it. This highlights the caring aspect of Nawras and on behalf of my family we wish Nawras all the best to keep growing from strength to strength and to deliver to the best mobile service to the people in the Sultanate.”
