Nawras launches SMS-based credit transfer for Nawras Mousbak
Another ‘first’ in Omani Mobile Market

Nawras, the Sultanate’s customer-oriented communications provider, launched an SMS-based credit transfer for its Nawras Mousbak and Nawras MousbakPlus customers - another ‘first' in the Omani mobile market.

The credit transfer service enables Nawras prepaid customers to transfer credit from their Nawras Mousbak/MousbakPlus prepaid account to any other Nawras Mousbak prepaid customer. Jesper Larsen, Nawras’ Head of Product Management, commented on the occasion, “Nawras continues to be the market leader in delivering Best Service to mobile customers in the Sultanate, and the convenience of the Credit Transfer service is another example of how we deliver services based on customer needs. The service will without doubt be a success with our growing circle of Nawras customers.”

The Credit Transfer service allows Nawras Mousbak and Nawras MousbakPlus customers, which are running out of credit on their prepaid account, to stay connected with family and friends, even if they are not in a position to purchase a new recharge card. They can simply request family or friends to recharge their prepaid account, from as low as 10bz, through the use of the Credit Transfer service. Mr. Larsen commented, “The Credit Transfer service is ideal for customers, who have no cash at hand to buy a recharge card, and it even works for customers traveling abroad or in rural areas where no recharge cards are available. A father can also add credit to his children’s’ accounts simply by using the Credit Transfer service.”

To credit another Nawras Mousbak or Nawras MousbakPlus customer’s account, a Nawras prepaid customer can simply enter the menu on his/her mobile handset and select ‘Nawras Zone’. After selecting the preferred language, the customer selects ‘E-Recharge’ followed by ‘Transfer Credits’. By entering the mobile number of the Nawras Mousbak/MousbakPlus customer one wishes to credit, as well as the amount to transfer, an SMS will be sent to activate the credit transfer. The sender will receive a confirmation SMS with a transaction number of the credit transfer. The recipient will also be informed by SMS, that his/her account has been credited with the amount transferred.

The service is provided free of charge to Nawras prepaid customers. Customers will only pay the normal SMS tariff of 10 Bz for each transaction.
