Nawras caring for the community: Sponsors athletic race in the Wilayat of Samail

Nawras Oman’s new leading mobile operator has within the context of the world Olympic Day 2005 sponsored an athletic race in the interior Wilyat of Samail. H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Sarmi, Under-secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education patronised the race at Samail organized by the Directorate of Sports Activities of the Interior Region. The 7 K.M race, was kicked-off from Samail main road culminating in the Samail Sport Club.

At the event of the race H.E. Dr. Al-Sarmi handed out commemorative gifts to the winners, some teams and administrative judges of Samail Sport Club. On the occasion H.E. Dr. Al-Sarmi remarked he was pleased to be patron of this important sporting event and thanked Nawras for its invaluable support for different sporting activities. In addition he praised Nawras for its remarkable achievements to date as a new mobile telecommunication company in the Sultanate.

Sheikh Khalfan Al-Bakri, Vice Chairman of Samail Club extended his profound gratitude to Nawras for its contribution in supporting such sporting activities. He added that “Nawras has shown astonishing response regarding the sponsorship of the race which underscores its policy in supporting the different events not only in Muscat but everywhere in the Sultanate.”

Khalid Al-Zadjali, Nawras Corporate Affairs Specialist, who represented the company, expressed his admiration towards the youth of Samail for their achievements in sports. He thanked everyone who participated to make this event a success which coincides with the occasion of 35th anniversary of the accession day and reiterated that Nawras is always in the forefront to covey the best service, in this case by being a good corporate citizen supporting sport activities that enhance the welfare of the people of the Sultanate.
