Nawras launches incredible daily call offer for the Holy month of Ramadan!

Pleasingly different communications provider Nawras today announced another first for Oman with the launch of its latest innovative offer. During the holy month of Ramadan all Nawras customers will be able to call a Nawras number they choose, such as a close friend or family member, all day from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. for a one-off daily fee of only RO 2. Once the RO 2 fee is paid for the day all calls to the selected Nawras number will be free until 5pm.

Aziz Al-Harrasi, Consumer Segment Manager, said “this is truly a great offer for Nawras customers. To be able to call a friend or family member on the Nawras network for up to 12 hours per day for only RO 2 is incredible value. For customers with a lot to say this would equate to only 2.8 Bz per minute! We hope this will be beneficial to families with friends or family members spread across the Sultanate, enabling them to get closer to each other during the holy month of Ramadan.”

Ajel, Postpaid customers simply need to send a free SMS to 90606 listing only the specific Nawras number they are requesting to call as part of the offer. Mousbak, Prepaid customers simply dial *141# followed by language, tariff options, F&F, and then select the Ramadan offer from the available bundles. Customers will receive a SMS message to confirm that the number they have selected has been set-up correctly and that the RO 2 charge has been made to their account. Once confirmation has been received customers will be able to make as many calls as they like to their selected number without any additional cost, until that day’s subscription ends at 5pm. The offer is limited to 1 Nawras number per customer per day, however customers may select a different number to call on each day they subscribe to the promotion.

This incredible offer is limited to the first few thousand Nawras customers who subscribe each day. Once the daily subscription limit has been reached on a particular day no new subscription requests will be successful. Customers wishing to take advantage of the offer are therefore encouraged to subscribe as soon as possible each day to avoid disappointment. Customers who send a subscription request outside the hours of the promotion (after 5 p.m. and before 5 a.m. each day) will be added to the subscription requests for the following day.

As a further benefit to customers during Ramadan Nawras has also reduced the subscription prices of two of its popular services: Prayer Time SMS, and Athkar SMS and MMS. For a monthly fee of just 250 Bz, Nawras customers can receive a daily SMS giving the full daily prayer time schedule for any of the key cities in the GCC. To get started, customers simply send a free SMS with the keyword Prayer, followed by a space and the City to 90900. For example, one could send Prayer Muscat or Prayer Mecca. A response will be received immediately, confirming the details of the service including the duration of the subscription and the cost of just 250 Bz for Ramadan. Prayer time messages will be delivered after the last prayer of Ishaa’ each day, showing the city name, the following day’s date and the applicable time of Fajar, Shrooq, Dhuhur, Asur, Maghrib and Ishaa’. The Athkar service – which provides ideas for prayers - is available in Arabic in both simple text (SMS) and rich multimedia including sound (MMS). To subscribe to the Athkar SMS service customers simply send ‘9’ to 90990; to subscribe to the Athkar MMS service customers simply send ‘99’ to 90990.

This Ramadan looks set to be a very good time for families and friends, as Nawras seeks to support the community in increasingly innovative and popular ways. In addition to the fantastic offers, during the holy month Nawras staff will also be embarking on the 5th Goodwill Journey, spreading good will and presenting gifts to communities throughout the Sultanate.
