Nawras Sponsors Exciting Wahiba Challenge

Nawras, the customer-friendly communications provider, proudly sponsored the thrilling Wahiba Challenge 2008 which presented an exciting off road adventure over the weekend of the 20th and 21st November. A total of 262 participants signed up to undertake the impressive journey across the desert from the Eastern margin of the Sharquiya Sands to the Western margin.

Nawras is delighted to have supported the organisers, Ras Al Hamra Off Road Adventure Club, by once again being the main sponsor for the 11th anniversary of this event. Wednesday evening saw the biggest ever turnout for the challenge, with over 100 cars making up the 28 teams that set off over the dunes on Thursday morning. The numbers included two Nawras eight-man teams which were led by Chief Commercial Officer, Tore Solberg.

Nawras played both an active and caring role in the Wahiba Challenge. The company showed how it really cares by providing a recovery team to rely on when the inevitable problems beset participating teams during the event. This friendly communications provider also supplied very welcome refreshments at the end of both gruelling days as well as on the final night once everyone had returned safely to PDO, where they enjoyed a dinner event with their families.
