Nawras Customer Champions Brighten Lives Of Hospitalised Children

Nawras Customer Champions are well-known for their caring approach which is not limited to their working hours alone but extends far beyond the call of duty, as seen in the recent case of their caring initiative at a hospital in Muscat. After a personal experience which left him concerned, Faisal Ali Salim Al Siyabi decided he wanted to make a difference - Nawras style.

Al Siyabi had reason to visit the recently opened children’s ward when a member of his own family was hospitalised there for a few days. Noticing the lack of toys and amusements for the little ones, he consulted with one of the doctors to see how he could help before returning to Nawras with a strong determination to make a difference.

“Why don’t we share our happiness and each contribute whatever we can in order to give some smiles to these children,” he implored his colleagues. “We are known as being giving people and our support is really needed here.”

After Al Siyabi relayed his concerns, the Customer Champions began rallying around their colleague, beginning with the organisation of a fund-raising drive. With the proceeds of their generous collection in hand, they went shopping to find the gifts that would brighten the lives of sick children by making their hospital stay more comfortable.

“I could see that the children had very little to play with to distract them from their illnesses and I was determined that Nawras could make a meaningful contribution to this hospital”, said Al Siyabi. “My colleagues listened to my plan and immediately wanted to join me in this mission.”

With toys and gifts in hand, the group of Customer Champions arrived at the hospital to set up a play area for all the hospitalised children to benefit from.

After assembling and arranging the collection of toys and equipment and then decorating the walls of the hospital ward with pictures appealing to children, Al Siyabi commented, “We are all part of the community and it is our duty to help each other whenever we can. This small gesture has already given so much pleasure to the children on this ward and I am comforted to know that in the future, when little ones enter that environment, they will be immediately comforted when they see the fun-filled environment that Nawras Customer Champions have provided. A little caring can certainly go a very long way.”

Last month, in another caring initiative, Customer Champions brought smiles of happiness and joy to the children at the Childhood Care Home in Muscat.
