Nawras Renews Partnership With Khimji Ramdas

21st September 2008

Nawras has extended its premium distributor agreement with Khimji Ramdas, in a move that continues this mutually successful partnership to the benefit of customers across the Sultanate of Oman. Cementing the next era of this important element in the extensive Nawras distribution network, the renewal signing ceremony took place recently at Nawras’ main office in Al Athaiba where it was attended by senior managers of both companies.

Khimji Ramdas has been a valuable partner for Nawras, since this award-winning mobile operator first launched in March 2005, changing the telecommunications landscape in Oman. From the beginning, Nawras recognised that customers needed to be able to easily purchase mobile telecommunication products and services from convenient points near to their homes and offices. By establishing partnerships with selected dealers, Nawras was able to quickly cover the Sultanate in a short period of time, meeting the ever-changing needs of its valued customers wherever they might be.

From the early days, Khimji Ramdas played an important part in helping to make Nawras SIM-cards and recharge cards readily available and today that aim continues to be achieved through its Khimji Mart outlets, selected Oman Oil shops and approximately 200 dealers located countrywide.

On behalf of Khimji Ramdas, Director Anil M. Khimji signed the renewal agreement, accompanied by Jayanta G. Borpujari, GM KRCCS; Vivek Pande, CEO Lifestyle Group and Girish Nair, Business Manager, Projects and Telecom.

CEO, Ross Cormack added his signature on behalf of Nawras while other senior managers from the company looked on, including Nawras Chief Operating Officer, Khalid Al-Mahmoud, Chief Commercial Officer, Tore Solberg; Mohamed Abdulatif, Nawras Sales Director; Abdul Aziz Al Hinai, Department Head of Indirect Sales and Hilal Al Touqi, Sales Account Manager.

“Delivering our products and services to customers all over the Sultanate has been a priority for us and we sincerely thank Anil Khimji and his esteemed colleagues for the fantastic alliance that we have enjoyed to-date, which has contributed to achieving that aim,” said Ross Cormack, in appreciation. He went on, “In our mission we state that at Nawras we are committed to enhancing people’s daily lives by making mobile communication easier, more versatile and always a rewarding experience. We appreciate the strong support from Khimji Ramdas which has played an important part in helping us to reach our customers in pursuit of our mission.”

In response, Anil Khimji said, “Working with Nawras has been a pleasingly different experience for us and we are happy to be continuing this strong partnership. We are delighted to have worked with Nawras since the early days and now as we extend our agreement, we congratulate Nawras on its success in welcoming over 1.3 million customers. The company has experienced fantastic growth and change since March 2005 but the people at Nawras are as friendly and professional today as they were in the beginning. We look forward to continuing our mutually beneficial partnership.”

Khimji Ramdas is a valuable part of the Nawras distribution network which spans the Sultanate, giving Nawras customers around 15,000 places to buy a Nawras Recharge Card and over 850 points of sale for Nawras products and services as well as 18 strategically located Nawras Stores.

Nawras currently covers 96% of the population with its reliable world-class network, using national roaming where necessary and always with Nawras great value.
