Nawras Mousbak customers get more countries for data roaming

Nawras Mousbak customers have another new boost to their communication abilities as the company announces the doubling of the number of prepaid data roaming partners from 16 to 32 different countries. This means prepaid customers can now read and send emails, download files as well as browse the internet when travelling to any of these 32 different countries including the United States of America, India and Thailand. In a move that dramatically increases the number of data roaming partners for its prepaid customers, Nawras continues to ensure that customers get more convenience and greater choice with the Middle East Mobile Operator of the Year.

Nawras is the only mobile service provider in Oman to provide Data Roaming service for prepaid customers making it possible for Nawras Mousbak customers to use their mobile phone, PDA (or a laptop with a Nawras Internet USB modem) when roaming abroad in partner countries, in exactly the same way as they usually do in the Sultanate. There are no additional settings or subscription charges for Data Roaming.

Omar Al Farsi from the Nawras Roaming team, listed some of the popular travel destinations that are also included in this latest development, saying: “Customers visiting India, Canada, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland and Tanzania can now use their prepaid Nawras Mousbak for Data Roaming and they can see the latest roaming details at anytime, including tariffs, by visiting the website at www.nawras.om or sending a free SMS with the Keyword Nawras to 1500.”

Nawras introduced Data Roaming for prepaid customers back in 2007 and amongst the countries at that initial stage were Egypt, France, UK, Kuwait, Japan and Qatar.

Nawras Mousbak customers receive this roaming service automatically and have no need to register or make any changes to their phones if they are already using mobile data services in Oman. For first time users, an empty SMS sent to 1501 will configure the phone through a simple process. Customers receive an SMS in reply and simply accept the settings given.

Even if customers require additional credit when travelling, it is not a problem. Nawras Mousbak customers can take along a spare Nawras Recharge Card with them when they travel and use this in the normal way wherever they may be. Alternatively, they may choose to use E-Recharge which enables another Nawras Mousbak customer in Oman to simply and easily transfer credit to the travelling customer, for the standard SMS price of just 10 Baisas. This is achieved by selecting Nawras Zone on the handset, followed by language and then E-Recharge to display the straightforward instructions.

Similarly, Nawras Ajel customers can transfer credit by SMS to Nawras Mousbak customers, even if they are out of the country. Any amount from just 10Bz to a maximum of RO25 can be transferred every month with this safe, secure and reliable method of recharge. Once again it is easily accessible by going to Nawras Zone on the handset and selecting E-Recharge.

When roaming abroad, customers can always check their Nawras account and call history online by visiting www.nawras.om and going to MyNawras, their personal account.

With the regular addition of new services and enhancements of existing ones, Nawras ensures that customers continue to get more from their mobile experience.

Nawras currently covers 96% of the population with its world-class network, using national roaming where necessary and always with Nawras great value.
