Nawras Introduces More Fun With New Chemical Orange Mobile Games

Nawras, the Middle East Mobile Operator of the Year, is thrilled to be introducing two great new fun-filled games featuring traditional Omani cultural themes that can be played by Nawras customers on their mobile phones. Noting that the games are easy to access and have great appeal for the whole family, Nawras is particularly pleased to be providing this easy web access to Chemical Orange, Oman’s first portal for playing free mobile phone games developed by Omanis.

Chemical Orange games have proved to be a massive success as they have been downloaded more than 70,000 times by mobile phone users since the portal launch at the start of April 2008. Nawras is delighted to provide its customers with easy access to download these mobile games developed by Chemical Orange, which are fun to play and representative of the local Omani culture.

To play Al Kharafa or Kuma Challenge, Nawras customers simply open their mobile phone browser and go to the bookmark Nawras WAP, which is automatically installed when the SIM-card is first activated. Alternatively, entering the address wap.nawras.com.om for Arabic language or english.wap.nawras.com.om for English language, opens up the Nawras WAP portal featuring these great new mobile games, as well as information on weather, worldwide flights, news, cinema and restaurant listings.

Al Kharafa is a simple arcade-style game featuring a young Omani girl trying to collect ripe dates as they fall off the trees. Players from all over Oman can compete to collect the largest number of dates while avoiding the yellow dates which are not ripe. The scores of the top five players can be seen on the Chemical Orange High Scoreboard.

Kuma Challenge is a rhythm game about making the best kuma in the quickest time possible. The player is required to hit the numbers on the keypad in accordance with the movement of the arrows on the screen. The games features two modes: a quick play mode gives the user a score for making a number of needle strokes within a time period, and the second mode is Arcade which lets the player continue until all game lives are lost. Both modes feature the Chemical Orange Highscore Board on which high scores can be shared with the rest of the gaming community.

Mohammed Al Najwani, Nawras Product Manager, VAS & Content said, “Nawras is always looking for new ways to continue to be pleasingly different, including introducing innovative ideas that provide enjoyment for all members of the fastest growing family in Oman. We believe many customers will enjoy playing these entertaining games on their mobile phones especially as people get closer by competing with one another to feature their impressive scores on the community scoreboard!”
By accessing Nawras WAP portal in either English or Arabic, customers can play these engaging games or select another link like ‘News’ to access local and international sites or ‘Flights Info’ showing details from airports worldwide. The ‘Going Out’ section providing cinema and restaurant listings for Muscat includes helpful telephone numbers while selecting ‘Weather’ enables Nawras customers to see both the local and international forecasts for the next five days for any city in the world including Muscat.

Under the ‘Search’ link, customers find search engines Google, Yahoo, AOL and MSN which can be used for quick reference allowing customers to search the web wherever they may be in the Sultanate within Nawras coverage or even when using any one of Nawras Ajel’s 74 Data Roaming partners in more than 34 different countries.

Nawras customers can also easily access a wealth of knowledge through Wikipedia Encyclopaedia and find a helpful summary of Nawras Stores showing locations and opening hours under ‘About Nawras’. This section also includes the different ways to contact Nawras and a list of popular Nawras services such as Prayer Time Notification, Dardasha (SMS chat) and Rannati (ring back tunes).

New services that inform and entertain ensure Nawras customers get more from their mobile operator. Full details of these great new games, the latest exciting offers as well as the many advantages of being a customer of this award-winning mobile operator, can be found by visiting www.nawras.om.

Joining Nawras is easy! To move from the other operator while keeping the same mobile number, customers begin by contacting their existing operator to settle their outstanding bill. Then, within 24-hours, a visit to the nearest Nawras Store, Regional Distributor or Premium Dealer will start the number transfer process as customers purchase their Nawras welcome pack and happily begin to get more from their mobile experience.

Nawras currently covers 96% of the population with its reliable world-class network, using national roaming where necessary and always with Nawras great value.
