Nawras first again with data roaming also for Nawras Mousbak

Nawras, the Middle East Mobile Operator of the Year, is announcing another ‘first’ for the Sultanate, as the customer friendly company continues to live up to its recent award, with creative innovations for its members. From today, Nawras Mousbak (prepaid) customers will be able to enjoy the benefits of Data Roaming in most of the GCC and other popular business and leisure travel destinations.

Nawras Mousbak customers are already able to make and receive calls and send and receive SMS when travelling, but with this new service comes the freedom to check E-mails and browse the internet from a handset, while visiting any one of the Data Roaming countries which has a Nawras Mousbak agreement.

Nawras was first to offer this extremely useful service for Nawras Ajel (postpaid) customers and many have been finding it invaluable. The company is expecting the same positive response from Nawras Mousbak customers as they also begin to experience this fantastic added convenience. Nawras has been a pioneer in introducing Data Roaming to the Sultanate and now, by introducing the same service for prepaid, is underlining the fact that Nawras is the award winning mobile operator with innovative and new age services for the ease of its customers.

Ali Raza Jafri, Team Leader, International Roaming, enthusiastically outlined how great this latest development is for customers. He said, “We are all delighted to be able to offer this new Data Roaming service which will be liberating for Nawras Mousbak customers when travelling around the region and beyond. We are launching with 16 countries and will continue to build on this by regularly adding new destinations. From today, when Nawras Mousbak customers travel to the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, for example, they can use their Nawras number in exactly the same way as they do in Oman, thanks to Nawras International Roaming service.”

Other countries covered initially at launch stage, include Egypt, France, UK, Kuwait, Japan and Qatar. Nawras Mousbak customers receive this service automatically and have no need to register or make any changes to their phones if already using mobile data services in Oman. Otherwise, it is a quick visit to the nearest Nawras Store or an empty SMS to 1501 to configure the phone through a simple process. Customers will receive an SMS in reply, simply accept the settings and then they are ready to start enjoying all the benefits of this great service.

To check any roaming information – perhaps prices in the GCC, for example - customers can simply send the keyword Roaming to 90500. Similarly, for the latest update on participating countries, a free SMS at anytime to 90500 with the keyword NM(space)BH will generate this information by return. The same step can be followed when overseas, in which case roaming charges will apply.

Nawras Mousbak customers can use a Nawras Recharge card when they are travelling, should they require additional credit or they may choose to use an SMS for E-Recharging. Any Nawras Mousbak customer can easily transfer credit to another Nawras Mousbak customer for the normal SMS price of just Bz10 by selecting Nawras Zone on their handset, followed by language and E-Recharge. Then they simply follow the straightforward instructions.

Similarly, Nawras Ajel customers can transfer credit by SMS to Nawras Mousbak customers, even if they are out of the country. Any amount from just Bz10 to a maximum of RO25 can be transferred every month with this safe, secure and reliable method of recharge. Once again it is easily accessible by going to Nawras Zone on the handset and selecting E-Recharge.

When roaming abroad, customers can always check their Nawras account and call history online by visiting www.nawras.om and going to MyNawras, their personal account.
