Nawras network reliable even during peak times

Nawras, the Middle East Mobile Operator of the Year, is delighted to report that once again, its world class network has performed without any interruption whatsoever to its great service, throughout one of the busiest times of the year. On the eve of Ramadan, traditionally a time of heavy traffic, Nawras successfully handled 25% more calls than usual and 19% more SMS.

There were no problems experienced anywhere on the Nawras Network and customers were able to happily exchange greetings with their family and friends who were also Nawras customers, safe in the knowledge that they can always rely on the excellent quality from their award-winning mobile operator. Unfortunately, due to problems experienced by other networks, some Nawras customers were unable to make calls that involved the other operator.

Pre-empting heavy usage periods which typically occur just before the beginning of Ramadan or Eid, Nawras experts monitored the network traffic and were able to reroute calls from one geographical area to another less pressured route, maintaining smooth, uninterrupted quality service for customers throughout. Nawras customers are never aware of this manoeuvre and have no need to be – they simply carry on enjoying their mobile communication, leaving the technical details to Nawras.

Sheikh Abdulla Issa Al-Rawahy, Chief Technical Advisor, expressed his satisfaction with the weekend’s performance, saying, “We are naturally well aware of the importance of occasions like Ramadan and Eid and proud to be giving excellent quality for our customers to depend on at all times. This includes all the particularly busy special periods when the Nawras family is exchanging greetings. We encourage our customers to get closer and our experienced network professionals provide them with reliable service to do just that, whenever they choose to.”

The Nawras Network is based on state-of-the-art technology, routinely checked and tested through regular benchmarking which takes place against more than 110 Ericsson networks across the globe. This monitoring exercise serves to ensure that Nawras maintains excellent quality and with world class standards that Nawras customers can depend on at all times, even during peak demand periods.

During the most recent evaluation, the Nawras Network was once again ranked highly amongst the best ten of the 110 networks worldwide and even achieved the coveted number one position for two key performance indicators which is indicative of the high standards maintained at all times. Nawras Network also achieved the second position in two further fields. This impressive result of four KPI’s in the very top of the nine indicators measured, is further evidence of the superiority of technology behind every call, SMS, MMS or other service provided by Nawras.

Nawras customers may remember the same reliable performance during the busy Eid time last year and more recently, during the adverse weather conditions, Nawras Network was resilient, reliable and robust. Inevitably, such extreme wind and rain did present one or two temporary problems but the Nawras Network team had done their homework thoroughly and carried out contingency plans that were in place long before, reducing the impact of the storm to an absolute minimum. Within a matter of days, the entire Nawras Network was back to its normal high quality standard, covering 92% of the population in Oman.

The quality of the Nawras Network, its team of professionals and dependability of service provided, all contributed to Nawras recently being awarded ‘Middle East Mobile Operator of the Year’. This despite being compared with many other operators in the region who have been in operation for far longer than the two and a half years clocked up by Nawras.

Nawras currently covers 96% of the population with its world-class network, using national roaming where necessary and always with Nawras great value.
