Nawras Store in Sur celebrates first Anniversary

Nawras, the Sultanate’s customer friendly communications provider, has celebrated the first anniversary of its Nawras Store in Sur with a visit by Nawras executives who held an event to thank customers, dealers and suppliers in the vicinity, for their valuable support. The visit was led by Chief Operating Officer, Khalid Al-Mahmoud, who presented the Nawras employees with certificates of appreciation for their great contribution, not least during the aftermath of the recent cyclone. He also extended warm greetings to the thousands of Nawras customers in the region, thanking them for their valuable part in the fastest growing family in Oman.

Al-Mahmoud congratulated the Nawras sales team in Sur on their impressive achievements. “It is a pleasure to be here in Sur for the Nawras Store’s first anniversary celebrations and to have the opportunity to personally thank the Nawras team who have been responsible for making such a great sales impact on the market in this area. Local customers appreciate the friendly, helpful, pleasingly different service that they receive and as a result of the Sur team carrying out the company’s values, Nawras is now firmly woven into the fabric of the local community.”

He elaborated further on this point, saying, “This social responsibility was evident recently in the way the team rallied round and contributed so much during the challenging times that followed Gonu. As members of the Executive Committee, we are here to recognise and appreciate the caring attitude of our Sur Nawras team members who have demonstrated such professionalism. They are interacting directly with our customers on a daily basis and in doing so, they reflect the face and soul of our company.”

Although only open for the last twelve months, the Sur Nawras Store has achieved an amazing amount in this comparatively short time, contributing positively to the activities and events that take place in the local community. The team of Nawras employees led by branch manager Abdullah bin Suleiman Al Shuaili, work hard to give the highest level of performance and excellence to customers. They enjoy great team spirit with a mantra of “one for all and all for one” which they believe has specifically contributed to the success of the Nawras Store in Sur.

Team member Aiman Al Alawi, explained one of the reasons for their great motivation. She said, “Nawras provides an appropriate environment for its people, by empowering them to deliver the best quality service to customers. The company operates with an open environment, allowing anyone of us to freely approach the CEO or senior management with our ideas, without the need to follow obstructive procedures or policies. It makes us feel very much part of the family at Nawras. That and more, distinguishes Nawras from other operators.”

The Oman Liquefied Natural Gas (OLNG) plant is a well-known key industry in Sur and the Nawras team has been visiting the site, sharing the good news about its unique offer for OPAL companies. From its temporary kiosk within the OLNG plant in Sur, the Nawras team is providing the most personal, convenient introduction to the fantastic benefits this OPAL offer gives, not only to the company’s personnel themselves, but even for their family members!

Although the Nawras Store was flooded recently, great efforts were made to restore the operation as quickly as possible, in order to give help to customers and provide the communication links they so badly needed. Nawras was proud to the first mobile operator to restore its infrastructure in the Sur region following the storms, giving much needed network coverage to customers.

In the wake of the cyclone, Nawras people also contributed their time and energy to support the cleaning campaign organised by the Municipality of Sur. They were part of the team restoring the natural beauty to the coastline with its beautiful beaches.

Nawras has been active with many other community projects in the Sur region throughout the year, officially sponsoring many events including the annual Scouts gathering held at the Sur College of Education.
