Nawras Customer Numbers Boosted by Mobile Number Portability

Nawras, the Sultanate’s customer friendly communications provider, has announced that on average eight out of ten customers are choosing to move to or stay with Nawras and about nine out of ten postpaid customers are switching to or preferring Nawras. These figures are testimony to the appeal of Nawras’s unique style of pleasingly different service, high quality network and excellent value. Mobile Number Portability (or MNP as it is known), the ability to transfer between mobile operator without losing an existing mobile number, makes the process of changing operator a hassle-free, attractive proposition that many are gaining from. New Nawras customers are enjoying the benefits of best prices, Nawras Rewards (discounts and offers in over 120 outlets), incomparable customer care, MyNawras and the knowledge of being with a company that is not too busy to take time to shoulder its corporate social responsibility role.

Nawras Head of Offer Management and Corporate Affairs, Haitham bin Abdullah Al-Kharusi, explained the recent upsurge of interest in Nawras, by stating: “There is a saying that actions speak louder than words and I think the steadily increasing levels of interest being shown in Nawras clearly demonstrates customers responding to pleasingly different service, high quality network and excellent value that Nawras consistently delivers. Mobile Number Portability has facilitated the process of changing operator and many people are now taking the opportunity to become Nawras customers (with all the advantages that entails) whilst keeping their own mobile number, known by their family and friends.”

One of the main reasons cited by new customers for joining Nawras is simply that they can experience an attractive international and national call rates and furthermore when travelling, take advantage of more than 180 worldwide roaming partners in 89 countries. In fact, Nawras covers more than 95% of Omani travel destinations with its comprehensive, ever-expanding roaming network. International data roaming is offered exclusively by Nawras through agreements with 20 mobile operators in 16 different countries including every country in the GCC. Customers can access current account status and call history and Nawras Ajel customers (post paid) are able to view their latest billing information. MyNawras also allows customers to receive proper configuration settings for mobile handsets to begin using data services.

Factors influencing choices made by consumers include a company’s sense of corporate social responsibility, a trait exhibited in a very real way by Nawras since the business began operating. The successful conclusion of the Nawras Goodwill Journey 2 was a recent example of the company repeatedly demonstrating its concern for those less privileged within society. This employee initiative clearly showed the caring nature of Nawras as a convoy of branded vehicles travelled thousands of kilometres around the Sultanate, delivering carefully chosen donations according to the specific needs of the charities visited.
