Nawras Sponsors Eid Exhibition at Sultan Qaboos University

Nawras, the Sultanate’s customer-friendly communications provider is sponsoring the Sultan Qaboos University Eid Exhibition by operating a daily draw. An extra element of excitement was provided when Nawras MNP Ambassador, national and international footballer Mr. Ali Al Habsi attended the event. Al-Habsi was on hand to draw the first winning ticket and present the lucky recipient with their Nawras Mousbak prize. The Eid Festival, organised entirely by the students, began on 7th October and will take place for twelve days during which time, Nawras will offer prizes on a daily basis for the lucky winners.

Nawras SQU Store Manager, Adil Al Zadjali, was asked to explain the reason for the company’s involvement. He said, “Nawras is proud to be associated with the unique institution that is Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the only Government run university in Oman. With around 12,000 undergraduates, it is an extremely important establishment and Nawras has already demonstrated the respect with which it is regarded, by selecting SQU as one of its 15 country-wide Nawras Store locations.”

Nawras has taken a keen interest in the university by participating in regular SQU events in the past, as part of its ongoing social corporate responsibility role of contributing to the local community. Currently, Nawras is also playing an active part in the ongoing e-Oman road show, the Government initiative to encourage people to use technology in their daily lives and is also supporting BBIC, a competition designed to motivate and assist local entrepreneurs to develop new business opportunities, thereby creating more employment prospects in the Sultanate, for the future. Recently, Nawras was involved in sponsoring the Internet Café at the Khareef Festival in Salalah introducing internet possibilities to the audience there.
